February 23 – American Advertising Awards (the ADDYs)

This year’s American Advertising Awards will recognize and showcase the best advertising creative talent created in the market between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2017. The evening begins with cocktails and appetizers at 6 p.m., followed by the Awards Show at 7 p.m.

One hundred and thirty-two, interactive, digital and print entries were submitted this year from agencies, businesses, individuals and students in the Tri-State area. A three-member judging panel consisting of out-of-market professionals evaluated all entries.

Tri-State AMP will also present the 2018 Silver Medal Award to Chuck Voss, creative services director with KFVS12. The American Advertising Federation’s Silver Medal Award Program was established in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry’s standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.

Winners of the local ADDY Awards are eligible to compete in the second level of the three-tiered ADDY Awards competition, the District 9 AA Awards conducted in March. The District 9 winners are then eligible for the ultimate competition, the national AA Awards, presented in June every year by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). As a three-tiered national competition with 40,000 entrants overall, the national ADDY Awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising worldwide.

Tickets for this event are $40 in advance and $55 at the door. Reserved seating is also available for $300, including eight tickets. For tickets or more information, please visit http://tristateamp.eventbrite.com or contact Tonya Wells, Tri-State AMP co-chair, at (573) 651-2459.
